[Data] Evaluation of 3D Shape and Particle Size of Resin Pellets
In the evaluation of individual particle diameters, it has become possible to assess the Z-axis "thickness" in addition to the XY axes, achieving effective classification and high data consistency!
The size evaluation of resin pellets is typically conducted using a caliper for three-dimensional (3D) assessment along the X, Y, and Z axes, or through sieve methods; however, both methods present challenges in terms of measurement effort. As a solution, two-dimensional (2D) evaluations using common image analysis methods and laser diffraction/scattering methods have been proposed, but the data does not align with caliper measurements or sieve methods, making them insufficient as alternatives. Here, we introduce the "Particle Shape Evaluation and Particle Size Distribution Measurement Device PartAn3D," which employs patented 3D imaging technology. This device achieves a high correlation with conventional methods by evaluating not only the XY axis (plane) but also the Z axis (thickness).
